Dear Parents and Guardians,

Our school will be participating in the TinCaps Reading Program, a reading incentive program sponsored by the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Your child will have the opportunity to improve his or her reading skills while earning a surprise gift and a ticket to a TinCaps baseball game. Your child will also receive a free hot dog, chips and drink to enjoy during the game. 

Beginning Date: March 1, 2026
Ending Date: April 10, 2026

• The TinCaps Reading Program is divided into four segments representing a "base" on the baseball field. When a student completes a segment, they will advance to the next base. The goal is to "hit a home run."

• Your child needs to complete the following reading assignment to advance to each base:

K-2nd grade: Read for 30 minutes (does not have to be consecutive)
3-5th grade: Read for 1 hour (does not have to be consecutive)

• Each time your child completes a reading assignment, have them record their accomplishment under the respective base on the Parent/Guardian verification form. When the entire form is filled out, please return it to your child's teacher.

• When your child has completed their reading goal, students will receive a ticket order form to redeem for a free TinCaps ticket. Additional tickets may also be ordered at a discounted rate to attend with your child. On their game date, the students will also receive a free hot dog, chips, drink and surprise gift. 

• Once your child has received their ticket order form, tickets can be redeemed one of two ways: 1) Online at TinCaps.com/reading, or 2) Returned to the TinCaps Ticket Office in person or by mail. (If mailing, the order forms must be received by April 11th.)
